How to Sell

Do you have maternity or nursing clothes, pregnancy books, children's clothes, toys, small equipment or DVDs that you no longer need? Would you like to sell them with the minimum of effort? Truly Bumptious operates as a nearly-new clothing (consignment) agency which sells items on commission.

How to sell through Truly Bumptious

1.   Have a look at our Seller Agreement on this page or download a copy. Take some time to sort through the items that you wish to sell and check that they are in the right condition.Check our list of items that we do not currently accept:

Baby/Child       Maternity
  • Cherokee/Tesco and George clothes
  • Vests and sleepsuits except for premature/
    early baby sizes and fleece sleepsuits
  • Bibs
  • Blankets and beeding (except for sleeping bags
    and swaddle blankets) 
  • Jeans (excpet 2 years plus)
  • Maternity underwear including bras
  • Black work trousers (except in sizes 6 - 8 and 18 +)

2.   Make a list of the items for your own records. You may wish to look at our recommended Seller Form.

3.   Call or e-mail us to make an appointment to drop off your items. You'll be given the bottom part of the Seller Agreement which will confirm the date when you should call in to collect unsold items and your cheque.

4.   We may ask you to call back in a week to see if there are any items which we cannot sell for you. We'll usually try to do this at your initial appointment but there may be times when this isn't possible.

5.   Tell all of your friends about Truly Bumptious and spread the word so that people come and buy your things.

6.   You can make another appointment (or as many as you like) to sell more items.

Why sell through Truly Bumptious?

  • It requires very little effort. You provide your clean, ironed clothes along with a completed Seller Form and Agreement and we do all the hard work for you. No need to photograph your clothes to sell them on eBay or to parcel them up. No need to advertise them & have people coming to your house to look through them.

  • We sell clothes at prices which should be higher than you would get by selling your clothes as a 'job lot'.

  • We price your clothes and we do all of the marketing and selling of them.

  • We store your clothes so you get some space in your wardrobe/loft.
  • You can drop your clothes off to our shop. As soon as we have priced your clothes, we enter them onto our database and you just have to wait for us to pay you.
